Drachenberg is 20 minutes from the centre of Bonn. There’s even a spectacular way to get there: just take the historical Drachenfels Railway from Königswinter. The oldest operational rack railway in Germany transports you along a 1-metre wide and 1520-metre long track right to the doors of Castle Drachenburg. This trip is worthwhile for the fabulous views of the Rhine cities of Bonn and Cologne alone. And once you arrive at the top, the fun really starts.
Geocaching is a modern variant of a treasure hunt or paper chase. Equipped with a GPS (Global Positioning System) device, participants set off in small groups to hunt for the hidden treasure chest. During the search, you will learn a lot about the history of the castle in an entertaining way.
